Sophia lives in Auckland in beautiful New Zealand. Recipient of a degree in History and English from the University of Auckland, she writes Regency stories set in England and Medieval Scotland. One of her great loves is researching for a new book.
Georgette Heyer novels formed Sophia James’s reading tastes as a teenager. But her writing life only started when she was given a pile of Mills & Boons to read after she had had her wisdom teeth extracted! Filled with strong painkillers she imagined that she could pen one, too.
She first got published in 2003 and has written about twenty books since then. She generally writes about two books a year and also enjoys taking art tours to Europe with her husband, who is a painter.
Let’s discover together her latest book to date, A Night of Secret Surrender (Gentlemen of Honor), published in May 2018.
