Shari Lapena was born in 1960. She currently lives in Toronto.
She was a lawyer and an English teacher before beginning her writing career, publishing her debut novel, Things Go Flying, in 2008. That suspense novel was a shortlisted Sunburst Award finalist in 2009.
Shari is also the author of Happiness Economics (2011), a novel which was a shortlisted Stephen Leacock Award finalist in 2012. Her thriller, The Couple Next Door (2016), was a bestseller both in Canada and internationally, positioning Shari Lapena in the ranks of best authors of 2016.
