Jeannette Hyde practices nutritional therapy from a Functional Medicine approach one-to-one, in groups, and on her popular retreats. She is a regular speaker on BBC and has featured in The Times, The Daily Telegraph and numerous magazines and web sites.
She is involved in gut-brain research with St Mary’s University in London. Her books have reached thousands of people in the UK with transformational health for many.
As she says on her web, she is fascinated by new research linking the microbiome – the kilo and half of bacteria mainly in the digestive system – with a happy gut, balanced weight, and overall wellbeing.
Her four-year training in nutrition took place at The University of Westminster in London where she gained a BSc (Hons) in Nutritional Therapy. Her early years of clinical practice were gained at the university’s teaching clinic in central London and later in private practice in central and west London where she worked with individuals with gut, skin, and autoimmune disorders.
Nowadays, she combines her experience from that clinical practice with latest developments in gut research to form the basis of The Gut Makeover book, retreats, group workshops, and one-to-one consultations. She recently completed AFMCP training with the Institute of Functional Medicine in the US. She is working with St Mary’s University Twickenham psychology department on a research project into the gut-brain connection.
