His books are sold worldwide in more than twenty-five countries and have been translated into more than two dozen languages, including French, German, Italian, and Spanish. Robert was born in Picatello, Idaho (U.S.A.), in 1961. By the seventh grade he knew he wanted to be a writer.
After majoring in communications, journalism and creative writing from Stanford Universiy, he graduated Phi Beta Kappa and attended the UCLA School of Law. He practiced as a trial attorney in San Francisco for 13 years at Gordon & Rees. In 1998 he awoke one morning and made the decision to write novels, fulfilling his early wish. He thus settled in Seattle to pursue his dreams.
